It is erroneous to identify the Soul, the Self as 'I' or 'I AM' because, the Soul, the Self is not 'I' or I AM’. The Soul, the ‘Self’ is that witness of the 'I'.
The ‘I’ is not the expression of the fullness of consciousness.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the division within consciousness.
The ‘I’ is ignorance.
The ‘I’ is the cause of experiencing the dualistic illusion as a reality.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the experience of birth death and the world.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the form, time, and space.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the universe.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the three states.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the mind.
Remember:~
Without The ‘I’ it is the fullness of consciousness.
Without The ‘I’ there is no division within consciousness.
Without the ‘I’ there is no ignorance.
Without the ‘I’ there is no dualistic illusion.
Without the ‘I’ there is no experience of birth death and the world.
Without the ‘I’ is there is no form, time, and space.
Without The ‘I’ there is no universe.
Without the ‘I’ there are no three states.
The ‘I’ is the cause of the mind.
People try all kinds of paths and practice in order to get ‘Self’-realization.
Realizing the ‘‘Self’ ‘is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness is Self-realization.
Consciousness is the cause of the world in which you exist and it itself’ is uncaused.
Consciousness is pure, flawless, and full, beyond form, time, and space. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
Consciousness is beyond all limitations of the illusory form, time, and space.
Remember:~
‘I AMness’ is the physical awareness, not the Atmic awareness. Atmic awareness is ‘I Lessness’. Till one identifies ‘I AM as self, he remains in the domain of the duality. The duality becomes unreal, when the soul, the Self remains in its own awareness, the same as the dream becomes unreal when waking takes place.
‘I AMNESS’ is the physical awareness, not the Atmic awareness. Atmic awareness is ‘I Lessness’. Till one identifies ‘I AM as the Self; he remains in the domain of the duality. The duality becomes unreal, when the Soul, the Self remains in its own awareness, the same as the dream becomes unreal when waking takes place.
Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana makes one perfect to explain the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
When the Soul the Self, establishes itself in its own awareness, then you and your experience of the world will become one with it. When Self is not you then what is the use of saying ‘I AM THIS’ or ‘I AM THAT’.
The Self is not physical because the Self is the formless Soul which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul or the Spirit is genderless because it is ever formless.
The Soul is birthless and deathless because it is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.
The Self cannot be identified as he or she because, the Soul, the Self is genderless. The Soul is genderless because, it is an ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. Thus, the physical-based inquiry does not hold water.
To realize the truth beyond form, time, and space the seeker has to drop all the accumulated egocentric knowledge. By becoming more and more Soulcentric leads the seeker towards Advaitic Self-awareness.
Remember:~
"I AM" is the symbol of ignorance. Ignorance keeps the Soul, the Self in the cage of ignorance. The Self does not disappear only the ‘I’ appears and disappears. ‘Ignorance is present in the form of the ‘I’. Ignorance appears and disappears.
Ignorance is a dualistic illusion or Maya. The dualistic illusion is present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the form, time, and space; the form, time, and space are present in the form of the universe appear as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).
Without ignorance the ‘I’ ceases to exist. If the ‘I’ cease the then the mind, the form, time and space, the universe and the waking cease together. Ignorance is the cause of the forgetfulness of the reality hidden by the ‘I’.
Realize, ‘what is this ‘I’ supposed to be in actuality and what is hidden by the ‘I’ will be revealed.
If you realize the ‘Self ‘is not the ‘I’ but the Soul then whatever is hidden by the ‘I’ will be revealed.
If there is no ignorance then there is no ‘I’. If there is no ‘I’ then there is the bondage of the dualistic illusion.
If there is no dualistic illusion there is the experience of birth, life, death, and world.
If there is no experience of birth, life, death, and world it is the fullness of the consciousness.
The fullness of consciousness means the Soul, the Self, which is the eternal existence.
The seeker has to make sure what is this ‘I’ supposed to be? The seeker has to make sure the unreal nature of the ‘I’ which comes and goes to realize the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.
That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)
The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self.
Bhagavad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16
Remember, the ‘Self is not ‘I’ or ‘I AM’. The ‘I’ or ‘I AM is an object to the Soul which is ‘ the subject.
People think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self, which is eternal.
That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.
Realizing the Soul is not the ‘I’ but the Soul is the Self, is Self –realization.
That is why the Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection; and of those who strive and succeed, scarcely one knows the ‘Self’ in truth.
What is the use of saying -- ‘I am not this body ~ I am not this mind or I AM BRAHMAN or 'I AM GOD' because you are saying such thing within the dualistic illusion (I).
You are not the ‘Self’ because you exist within the dualistic illusion. The ‘Self’ is hidden by the dualistic illusion. Without realizing the ‘Self’ hidden by the dualistic illusion you will remain in the domain of ignorance.
What is the use of saying I am not this body ~ I am not this mind? By saying I am not this body ~ I am not this mind the ignorance will not vanish. Till ignorance is there the world in which you exist will prevail as a reality.
Without the mind, you, your body, and the world cease to exist. Realize the Self is not you. Without the ‘Self, the world in which you exist ceases to exist. The ‘Self’ is the cause of the world in which you exist and it itself is uncaused.
The ‘Self is not limited to you, because, the ‘Self’ pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states. Limiting the ‘Self’ to your existence and inquiring ‘Who Am ‘I’? will not help to unfold the truth of the whole.
Until you hold the ‘Self’ as ‘I’ you will never know ‘What ‘Self’ is? in actuality.
That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.
The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self. You think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the ‘Self is Soul the witness of the ‘I’. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is real and eternal. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
