Religious Gurus are not Gnanis, they propagate only religion. Religion is not Spirituality or Adyathma.+

Religious Gurus are not Gnanis, they propagate only religion. Religion is not spirituality. Religious Gurus do not propagate wisdom they are meant to guide the ignorant populace in practical life within the practical world.
Many Religious gurus are serving humanity by giving free education and maintaining love and harmony in society but they are nothing to do with the Atmic path.
The Guru has nothing to do with Advaitic wisdom. A Gnani never identifies himself as a guru.
There are so many in the guise of Gurus and Godmen with criminal records who indulge in cheating rape, and murder.
The Gurus and Godmen who promise instant enlightenment or Self-realization are not Gnanis. Mixing religion with the Atmic path is like mixing oil in the water.
Seekers from the West mistake whoever calls them as gurus are Gnanis, thus, their mission of seeking the truth is misguided by such Gurus.

Remember:~
Those mystics, who talk of experiencing the supreme reality, do not know that the word experience implies something else, a second to be experienced, i.e. duality, i.e. non-reality, and those who talk of "direct knowledge" of reality again do not perceive that knowledge implies a second thing to be known; i.e.duality exists. i.e. no reality here!
The Guru and disciple and the world in which Guru and disciple exist are created out of single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. The consciousness is the ultimate truth of Brahman.
Identifying as a Guru or some Guru’s disciple keeps one in the cage of ignorance. A person who identifies himself as a Guru or disciple will never be able to get Advaitic Gnana.
The guru & disciple concept is meant for the religious and yogic path. In the Atmic path, the Guru and Disciple concepts have no value.
A person who realizes the ultimate truth or Brahman will throw off his religious robe and all religious identity and live like a commoner. He never identifies himself as Gnani nor does he identify himself as superior to others. He only shares his knowledge with fellow seekers.
A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru or a Yogi or someone disciple. The one who accepts himself as a Guru or someone’s disciple is not a Gnani.
Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him, and only those like him understand his state.
A Gnani can point at the sky, but the seeing of the star is the seeker's own work.
The truth-seeker seeks only truth. The inner Sage will guide you with love. Your sincerity and seriousness lead you to your inner core. Sincere and serious seekers are not excluded.
All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality. All the seekers of truth are chosen ones.
Katha Upanishads: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. ( II -23-P-20)
All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality. All the seekers of truth are chosen ones.
Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sri, Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who wear the sanyasin robes are wearing it for the sake of bread belong to the religion; they have nothing to do with Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of the ignorant masses in the dualistic world.
Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)
~ Then why stick to a Guru who is not a Gnani.
That is why Swami Vivekananda said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”

Remember:~
Yogis and Gurus are not Gods.
This idea of worshiping Guru as God is not a Vedic idea but adopted from Jainism and Buddhism.
Vedas bar human worship: ~
"They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, But those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.":~ (Yajur Veda 40:9.)
Then why worship and glorify the Gurus and Yogis (human form) in place of God when Veda bars such activities and warns people who indulge in such activities are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.
No one has ever seen God by practicing religion or yoga or indulging in glorifying the religious God and Goddesses because God exists prior to the form, time, and space.
The form, time, and space cease to exist as a reality when wisdom dawns. Thus, the Gods and Gurus have no place in the domain of the Advaitic reality. Advaita is the nature of the Soul, which is the real God.  Self-realization is the only way to God-realization.
By worshipping the religious Gods and Gurus one will not get Self-realization or God-realization.
The Soul, the inner Guru reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Bhagavan Buddha:~Unless one exercises his --reason--there is no chance of getting truth.+

Buddha was charismatic, hypnotic. Buddhism did not graduate its teaching to suit people of varying grades; hence its failure to affect society in Asia. People were impressed by him. But the interpretation of Buddha was bound to be rational.

Buddha existed in India centuries back when the whole country was going through a crisis of everything irrational: the Vedas, the Upanishads, the whole mysticism. The movement against all this was very great, particularly in Bihar where Buddha was.

If Buddha had lived at another time in history, in a part of the world that was not against mysticism, he would have been seen as a great mystic, not as an intellectual. The face that is known belongs to the history of a particular time. Buddha was not primarily rational. The whole concept of nirvana is mystical.

Buddha was even more mystical than the Upanishads, because the Upanishads, however mystical they look, have their own rationality. They talk about the transmigration of the Soul. Buddha talked about transmigration without a Soul. It is more mystical.

Buddha said:~ The Upanishads talk about liberation, but you will be there. Otherwise, the whole thing becomes nonsense. If I cannot be in that ultimate state of existence, then the whole effort is useless, illogical. Buddha said the effort is to be done – and you will not be there. It will just be nothingness. The concept is more mystical. ~ (OSHO)

Bhagavan Buddha as a constructive worker committed an error in failing to give the masses a religion, something tangible they could grasp something materialistic, if symbolic that their limited intellect could take hold of, in addition to his ethics and philosophy.

Bhagavan Buddha kept silent, refusing to answer questions on the ultimate. Therefore he was the wisest man in refusing to commit himself.

Nonduality or Advaita does not need the support of any Scripture or Revelation like the Veda. For it is based, not upon the varying theological fancies, which are as numerous as the sands of the sea, but upon reason, the common heritage of all mankind, irrespective of color or creed or clime.

The Seeker of truth has to know that something is inadequate in Buddhist or orthodox Advaitic teachings to reach the nondual destination because of the add-ons and adulteration. Thus, it becomes difficult to reach a destination directed by the Bhagavan Buddha.

Bhagavan Buddha gave up yoga after practicing it for six years. He saw it could not yield truth.

Bhagavan Buddha gave up his austerities of yoga as impossible and useless. Thus Bhagavan Buddha got enlightenment only after he gave up Yoga. Unless one exercises his --reason--there is no chance of getting the truth. - (Page.70/71 "Buddhism in Translation” by Warren)

Buddhism has not proved the truth of Nonduality.  Bhagavan Buddha pointed out the unreality of the world. He told people they were foolish to cling to it. But he stopped there. He came nearest to Vedanta in speech but not to Vedanta fully.

Bhagavan Buddha's teaching that all life is misery belongs to the relative standpoint only. For you cannot form any idea of misery without contrasting it with its opposite, happiness. The two will always go together. Bhagavan Buddha taught the goal of cessation of misery, i.e. peace, but took care not to discuss the ultimate standpoint for then he would have had to go above the heads of the people and tell them that misery itSelf’ was only an idea, that peace even was an idea (for it contrasted with peacelessness). That the doctrine he gave out was a limited one, is evident because he inculcated compassion. Why should a Buddhist sage practice pity? There is no reason for it. Advaita is the next step higher than Buddhism because it gives the missing reason, viz. unity, non-difference from others, and because it explains that it used the concept of removing the sufferings of others, of lifting them up to happiness, only as we use one thorn to pick out another, afterward throw both away. Similarly, Advaita discards both concepts of misery and happiness in the ultimate standpoint of non-duality, which is indescribable.

Bhagavan Buddha gave as the central feature of his doctrine the great law of Karma to reiterate its ethical meaning. He did more good in this to uplift the people than the ritualists.

Bhagavan Buddha: ~ Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

Buddhists say that a thing exists only for a moment, and if that thing has still got some of the substance from which it was produced how then can they deny that its cause is continuing in the effect; hence its existence is more than a moment. Vedanta is concerned with whether it is one and the same thing which has come into being or has it come out of nothing.

Even the Sunyavada ultimate of the "void" is really a breath, and therefore an imagination and not truth.

Buddhism did not graduate its teaching to suit people of varying grades; hence its failure to affect society in Asia.

Buddhism did not take people to the ultimate truth but showed them the worthlessness of desire-filled worldly life. It is good as far as it went, but this led to an overemphasis on outward renunciation, so here Sage Sri, Sankara differs from Bhagavan Buddha.

Bhagavan Buddha did not show that Brahman (consciousness) is also in the world.

Tibetan Buddhists say that many Bhagavan Buddha is living in spirit bodies and helping our earth from the spiritual world are still in the sphere of religious illusion, not the ultimate truth. Their statements are wrong. Every sage realizes that the only way to help mankind is to come down amongst them, for which he must necessarily take on flesh-body. When people are suffering how can he relieve their suffering unless he appears amongst them? When people are suffering how can he feed them from an unseen world whether their struggle is for material bread or for spiritual truth? No! He must be here actually in the flesh. It is impossible to help them in any other way and all talk of Shiva living on Mount Kailas in the spiritual body or Bhagavan Buddha in Nirmanakaya, invisible body belongs to the realm of delusion or ‘Self’-deception.

Sunyavada Buddhism is no intelligible meaning because every thought has its opposite every word is tied to its coordinate for all thought and speech can only operate under such dualism. Hence, taking the most fundamental word, existence is implied opposite non-existence is also there, and vice versa. So the Sunya "non-entity" is meaningless without "entity". Both are there.

When one says "Nothing is" what is the meaning of "is"? "Sunya" is something that exists: you cannot prove that consciousness does not exist. Has the Void a meaning? If so then it is only your imagination.

Even when you say "I am not" you are thinking. Hence, every thought means positing some existence. To exist is to be thought of hence our criticism of Sunyavada which says there is nothing. In saying "There is nothing" they are unconsciously positing something. The thought of nothing is existence itself. Hence, only by refraining from thought can they state their case. The thought itself is an object. The negation of existence is a thought. The presence of an object means duality. Hence, this proves that the Sunyavadins never understood the non-duality that is Brahman.

Buddhism agrees in thinking that the ego sees itself; they do not admit there is anything that sees the ego: they say there is no proof that any witness exists. When thoughts are there, thoughts become conscious of themselves.  Skandhas which appear and disappear are objects only Buddhists are unaware of the subject.

Buddhist Idealism: speaks only of ideas. What about the knower of these ideas? Buddhist Nihilism does not ask "What is meant by Nihilism? It is a thought. There must be a thinker of this thought.

Advaitic sages disagree with Buddhists (Vijnanavadin) only on the Ultimate question, but they agree with their idealism fully.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Every man knows God according to his like and dislikes. That he must know God in Truth.+

What is the value of mystic experience, what is the value of the words of great people of the past and wise men of the present?

In pursuit of truth, the seeker must examine and evaluate them all to find the truth.

  • Is there a God?

  • What is his nature?

  • Let there be proof.

  • Such questions must arise.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Every man knows God according to his likes and dislikes. That he must know God in Truth. We must have proof of what God has done and what he is doing.

  • Why did God create pain and pleasure?

  • Why does he torture humankind with epidemics and calamities?

  • Has God no better business to do?

  • Is God, teaching people lessons through these sufferings and setbacks?

  • What lesson can God teach the little child destroyed by fire the other day?

  • How can we believe that God is all-merciful when he constantly displeases all humanity?
Suppose one says he has got faith in a religion or some teaching. Suppose another says he has no faith in them. Thus, there is a contradiction.

No one can go to do anything about it.  Nothing can be done. In the real truth, there can be no contradiction, nor any possibility of it. The realm of truth cannot contradict anymore, because there is no duality in reality.

Those who pray to God for something occasionally get what they ask for. They then declare it to be a miracle to be placed to the credit of God! But when they fail to get what they pray for they do not attribute these failures to God, and thus the obvious fact that, the failures far outnumber the successes, as for instance thousands of families of the soldiers who prayed to God to protect their dear ones, but the prayers remained unheard and they have lost their dear ones in the wars.

The seeker has to examine every aspect." he must think deeply to know the ultimate truth of his existence. That is to inquire.

All secret silent mental invisible service of mankind by occult power is mere imagination based on the false ‘Self’ within the false experience. There are visible tangible signs in the world.  There are signs of the benefit of yogis in the world to stop human suffering through yogic power.  If such yogic power ever existed all wars, and calamities would have been stopped. Such power exists only in mythological stories.   Mythological stories are nothing but a myth.

The seeker should not believe it just because it is mentioned in the books. All such books are meant for the ignorant mass.

All the prediction belongs to the realm of duality. The duality is not a reality because it is based on the false ‘Self’ (ego or you) within the false experience (waking).    All predictions as to what these yogis will do in the future are unacceptable because verification is not immediately possible. Who can take them as having any worth? Therefore they belong to the world of imagination.  The imagination belongs to the unreal world.

Know God in actuality.

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~  God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. God cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions. Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.
Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.
People, who worship the belief of God, are hallucinating that they become one with such God.
Vedas itself says: May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman? Thus, to know the real God Self-realization is necessary. Self-realization is God-realization. Self-realization itself is real worship.
Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)
How can you worship God? That implies two ~ the worshipper and the worshiped, whereas God is non-dual. One can worship his idea of God only or realize his unity with it when he can’t worship it as a part.
When Upanishads and Vedas declare that, “God is in the form of the Athma, and God is indeed Athma itself” then why accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atma
God is the Supreme Being the One eternal homogeneous essence, indivisible consciousness, and intelligence, which is beyond form, time, and space. To which the Sages describe in a variety of ways through diverse words.
Bhagavad Gita: ~ ‘All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many Gods. (7- Verse -20)
Only the path of wisdom leads the seeker of truth on his journey to the ultimate realization of the true nature of the Universal Essence, which is the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.
Bhagavad Gita: 7: 19:~ "Such a man who has attained true knowledge, the knowledge of Self, the knowledge of Atman, worships ‘Self’ as~ Atman (God in truth) alone exists~ everything is Atman, there exists nothing except Atman. Such a man is extremely rare."
Bhagavad Gita: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God in truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).
When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.
Lord Krishna Says Ch ~V: ~ “Those who know the ‘Self’ in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

The dualistic worship of "God” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the innermost Self. In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

Mystics talk of universal consciousness. How do they know it in this sky, or in that rock or in the ocean? It is merely their guesswork.+

Mystics talk of universal consciousness. How do they know it in this sky, or in that rock, or in the ocean?  It is merely their guesswork or imagination or hallucination based on their samskara or conditioning!

Every man knows God according to his likes and dislikes. That he must know him as Truth. One must have proof for all the claims - what God has done and what he is doing.

It is no use in arguing with someone who has faith in his religion because for him there can be no possible refutation of what he believes, so rational argument is entirely useless. He clings to his belief so strongly that he makes no distinction between the truth and his belief.

One has to know that the religious God cannot exist without the illusory universe. The truth does not depend on a religious God but it entirely depends on the illusory universe

It is foolish to venture to know the truth of God's existence without solving the mystery of the universe.

It is difficult for tradition-bound people to accept anything as truth, other than what they inherited from their inborn and inherited conditioning and parental grooming, and their accumulated knowledge.

Only an intense urge to know the truth and the courage to accept the truth after verification with a better understanding one will be able to drop all his accumulated dross, which is the main obstacle to Self-realization.

What do they know? means, "What do they  know as a fact?"

Is there a God? What is his nature?

Let there be proof.

Why did God create suffering and pleasure?

Why does God torture mankind with all types of disasters and epidemics, violence?

Has God no better business to do?

It is useless to say that he is teaching people lessons through these sufferings.

What lesson can God teach the little child destroyed by fire the other day?

How can we believe that God is all-merciful when he constantly displeases the whole of humankind?

How do they know there is an Absolute or a God?

Such questions must arise for the seeker. The onus of proof is on the one who makes this assertion. Without proof, one should not accept any claims as truth.

There is no doubt that mystics saw Vishnu, Krishna, Kali Shiva, Jesus, etc. That they saw visions may be an undeniable fact, but the question is “Was what they saw the Truth?"

Many people make similar claims. They no doubt had such visions but they never stopped to inquire if their visions were true.

What is the value of mystic experience, what is the value of the words of great men? In pursuit of truth, the seeker has to examine and evaluate them all to find the truth.  But one has to “Analyze, how far is it true?” because the waking entity itself is a false self’ within the false experience.  Thus whatever the false self sees the false experience is bound to be a falsehood.  : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

To know what God in actuality, we must know what the Self is in actuality.+

Without realizing the Self how can you know what is God? Only ignorant believe in the religious idea of God without knowing what God supposed to be in actuality.

Whatever has name and form and attributes and whatever belongs to form, time and space is an illusion. The illusion hides the Spirit, which is God.  The illusion and Spirit are one in essence.  Spirit, the God alone is real and eternal.

Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara reveals both the real and the unreal nature of existence.

To know what God in actuality we must know what the Self is in actuality. In deeper Self-search, we become aware of the fact that our body, ego and our experience of the universe are created out of single stuff, which is the Soul or the consciousness.

Due to ignorance, we identify the Soul with the body and we become egocentric. When we become aware of the fact that, the Self is not the form but the Self is formless then we become Soul -centric and realize the fact that all the three states are merely an illusion created out of the consciousness. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth. ca’s nature.

Thus, the seekers and move ahead and reach the nondual destination through this mental (inner) journey.

In Spirituality, the word “God” stands for the ultimate truth or Brahman. All that is needed then is to realize the fact that, that Self is not the body (you), not the mind, but the Soul, the  Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness (Spirit).

Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman. Brahman is God. A firm conviction about the Soul as the 'Self' leads to nondualistic Self-awareness. Self-awareness is God-awareness.

First, realize the ‘Self’ is not you but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness.

Mentally hold on the Soul and mentally reduce the world in which you exist as consciousness by realizing the world in which you exist is nothing but an illusion created out of consciousness.

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~ God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. God cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions.

Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Lord Krishna Says Ch ~V: ~ “Those who know the 'Self'  in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

The Bible says: ~ “God is a Spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth(John 4:24)”

The Spirit is the root element of the universe. The Spirit is present in the form of the Soul, the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.

From the Spirit, the universe comes into existence. In the Spirit, the universe resides. And into the Spirit, the universe is dissolved. The Spirit is the parent of all that is there is.

The worshiping belief of God in place of real God is superstition.

Swami Vivekananda: ~ “If superstition enters, the brain is gone. Superstition is our great enemy, but bigotry is worse.

How can you worship the Absolute? That implies two ~ the worshiper and the worshiped, whereas the Absolute is nondual. One can worship his idea of the Absolute only or realize his unity with it when he can’t worship it as apart.

The Upanishads say in effect that: ~ If you believe that the ‘the Soul, the innermost Self’ is one and God (Brahman) is another you cannot understand Truth.

The religion preaches that God is one and the ways to God are many. It simply tries to lead them to darkness with its dogma and idea of many Gods, which is apart from the Self.

The universe is made of single clay. That single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul is the cause of the universe and it itself is uncaused. The Soul is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

The Soul, the God is hidden by the universe, which is present in the form of the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is the dualistic illusion. Thus, it is necessary to know what God supposed to be in actuality. God is not a belief but God is the truth.

The Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God in truth) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).
When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material.

Even Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

If you are seeking truth then you have to discard all the belief-based Gods in order to realize the ‘Self’. The ‘Self’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Self-realization is Truth realization. Truth -realization is God-realization. God-realization itself is real worship.

The world in which you exist is a dualistic illusion created out of the ‘Self’ which not ‘I’ but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Whatever you have seen, known, believed and experienced is within the dualistic illusion. Thus, your existence is bound to an illusion created out of consciousness, which is real and eternal.

Like an ornament made from gold is Gold, which is born out of consciousness is consciousness. Like gold is the permanent thing, in ornaments made of gold, similarly, the mind, which is in the form of the universe is born out of consciousness, is consciousness in its essence.

Remember:~

That is why Sage Sankara said:~Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)

Bhagavad Gita Chapter: ~ “All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many Gods. (7- Verse -20)

That is why Swami Vivekananda: ~ “The masses in India cry to sixty million Gods and still die like dogs. Where are these Gods? (In San Francisco, on May 28, 1900, of Swami Vivekananda/volume 1)

Kena Upanishad (6) Chapter I: ~ “That which cannot be apprehended by the mind, but by which, they say, the mind is apprehended-That alone know as Brahman, and not that which people here worship.

Kena Upanishad (7) Chapter I: ~ “That which cannot be perceived by the eye, but by which the eye is perceived-That alone know as Brahman and not that which people here worship.

Kena Upanishad (8) Chapter I: ~ “That which cannot be heard by the ear, but by which the hearing is perceived-That alone know as Brahman and not that which people here worship.

Kena Upanishad (9)- Chapter I:~ That which cannot be smelt by the breath, but by which the breath smells an object-That alone know as Brahman, and not that which people here worship.

Ishopanishad:~ "They are steeped in ignorance and sunk into the greatest depth of misery who worships the matter, instead of the All-Pervading God and those who worship things born of matter like trees, animals, man, etc. are sunk deeper in misery."

When Upanishads say they are steeped in ignorance and sunk into the greatest depth of misery who worships the matter, instead of the All-Pervading God (Atman) and those who worship things born of matter (illusion) are sunk deeper in misery then why worship God in place of the real God, which is Ataman.

The dualistic worship of personal “Gods” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the Self. In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

God is hidden by the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is the dualistic illusion. You are part and parcel of the dualistic illusion. The Soul is the cause of the dualistic illusion but itself is uncaused. The dualistic illusion is present in the form of form, time, and space.

The form, time, and space are present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).

Bhagavad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16

Your existence is limited to the illusory form, time, and space. The form, time, and space are made of the same clay. That clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Knowledge of the single clay is Self –knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Self–knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana helps the seeker to unfold the truth (God) hidden by the ‘I’, which is the dualistic illusion.

You have to draw your attention back every time it turns worldliness (I) and fix it in the Soul, the Brahman, or God in truth.

Truth realization is Self-realization and Self-realization itself is God-realization and God-realization itself is real worship. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
