All the paths available in India and elsewhere in the world are based on the matter (universe) whereas Sage Sankara‘s path of wisdom is based on the Spirit (Atman).+*****

People think all the paths available in India and elsewhere in the world lead to Self-realization but it is not so. All these paths are based on the matter (universe) whereas Sage Sankara‘s path of wisdom is based on the Spirit (Atman).
Yoga Vasistha says: ~ Self-knowledge or knowledge of truth is not had by resorting to a Guru (preceptor) nor by the study of scripture, nor by good works: it is attained only by means of inquiry inspired by the company of wise (Gnani). One’s inner light alone is the means, naught else. When this inner light is kept alive, it is not affected by the darkness of inertia.

There is no need to condemn Gurus, but there is a need to highlight how they become an obstacle to realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman.
Swami Vivekananda said: ~   “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”

That is why Buddha said: ~ Believe nothing because a wise man said it, Believe nothing because it is generally held. Believe nothing because it is written. Believe nothing because it is said to be divine. Believe nothing because someone else said it. But believe only what you yourself judge to be true
Bhagavan Buddha:~ There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth: not going all the way... and not starting.

All the penances are external because they are based on individuality. Investigating the mind, alone leads to Self-realization. To know what is the mind profits much rather than searching the truth in the external world moving from one ashram to another and one Guru to another and one mountain to another.
Sage Sri, Sankara said:~Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Tripura Rahasya: ~ Second-hand knowledge of the Self-gathered from books or Gurus can never emancipate a man until its truth is rightly investigated and applied; only direct realization will do that. Realize yourself, turning the mind inward. (18: 89)
When one starts investigating the universe that confronts him will mentally move inwards and will reach the ultimate end and become fully aware “What is the truth?” and “What is untruth?” in his own home or city and establish in truth by realizing what is the untruth.

Remember:~

If you are seeking truth nothing but truth then you must not get stuck with any Guru or yogi. Those who are seeking truth need not follow any Guru or any teaching.
Advaitic truth can never be unfolded by the dualistic reason and logic which is based on the matter (I).
Advaitic wisdom is soulcentric knowledge. It is difficult for people to understand soulcentric knowledge from a dualistic perspective. Our intelligence is based on the dualistic perspective thus; one has to learn to view and judge the worldview on the nondualistic perspective. As one goes on reading my blogs and posting gradually he will become soulcentric and will be able to view the worldview on the nondualistic perspective and he will be able to grasp the Advaitic truth.
People’s opinions are based on the dualistic perspective based on the false Self (ego or you) within the false experience (waking). Therefore, people go on arguing holding their accumulated knowledge as a yardstick. The pursuit of truth is the pursuit of verification not the pursuit of an argument. Nothing has to be accepted as truth without verification.
The judgment has to be is based on the Soul, the innermost Self to understand, assimilate and realize the truth, which is beyond the form, time and space.
The judgment based on the nondualistic perspective leads to Self-awareness. In Self-awareness, the Soul, the innermost Self, will remain in its own awareness in the midst of the diversity.
Only a perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ is needed. By realizing form, time and space are one is the essence and that essence is consciousness leads to Advaitic Self-awareness. When we drop all accumulated knowledge and start afresh it becomes easier to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
The seeker has to have the inner urge to know the truth seriousness, patience, and humility in order to reach the ultimate end of understanding. A man of truth will not indulge in an argument he keeps distance with such a mindset.
When all points of view are abandoned, what remains is the Self. Even in the world, you do not get what you desire until all obstacles are removed. This is even more true of Advaitic wisdom.
Some Gurus describes to perfection is the awakening to Reality—the realization that pure Consciousness alone is, that the perpetually fluctuating and evanescent contents of the mind derive from it.
This awakening effectively happens in an instant. But in order for the lightning flash to take place, resulting in a firm and unshakable certitude, long labor is necessary, which they seem to underestimate. “Truth is a formless” is their answer.
Their teaching seems essentially negative, potent but bitter medicine for those imprisoned by institutional cults. They break the seekers’ bonds, but then lead him to a vast desert where he abandons him. The ultimate state of consciousness they describe is that of the traditional sage or fully enlightened being, but they do not show us the process leading to the realization of this state. These Gurus describe marvelously the goal but do not indicate the steps to be taken: their recurring phrases "unified consciousness" and "let go" are not a road-map.
These Gurus approach was more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they take it as real. Thus these Gurus knew only half-truth because that is the fallacy of the ego (form) they never realized the fallacy of the time and space.
That is Why Sage Sri, Sankara says in the commentary on Vedanta sutra that what is accepted without a proper inquiry will not lead a person to the final goal. On the contrary, such acceptance will result only in evil, in something which is detrimental to our spiritual progress.
Seeker of truth should not believe blindly in any teaching without verifying all the facts from every angle. One has to reflect on reasoning over and over again without getting tired of the process.
The seeker has to tread the path alone, just remember two things. The seeker should not carry his mistakes — that means, don’t carry his accumulated knowledge, accumulated from different sources.
There is no need even to follow anyone. So-called spiritual Gurus go on teaching you, “Love!” because it is through love that they make you feel emotionally involved, and when you follow their path you are caught up in the prison of the dualistic illusion (I). :~Santthosh Kumaar
