You cannot discard the ego. The ego is the very basis of the world in which you exist. Without the ego, the world, in which you exist ceases to exist.
Without deeper investigation and without realizing ‘what is what’ spinning yarn on imagination is will not help you to unfold the mystery of your existence.
The world, in which you exist appears as a whole and disappears as a whole. The ‘I’ is the whole universe, not apart. Only when the ‘I’ is present the mind is present. Only when the mind is present then the universe is present.
The universe appears as waking or dreams (duality). And the universe disappears as deep sleep (non-duality). The one that witnesses the appearance and disappearance of the ‘I’ is the Soul, the Self.
The Soul is not an individual. The individuals are many but the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness, is one.
That is why Sage Sankara asks his opponents "How do you know there are separate individual Souls? Have you seen the Soul of a man? You can only say that you have seen different bodies. To say more is to misuse language. Therefore I call you liars unless you give proof, which is impossible.
Katha Upanishad (1.2.5) says; -"Caught in the grip of ignorance, self-proclaimed experts consider themselves learned authorities. They wander about this world befooled, like the blind leading the blind.
Perfect understanding and assimilation of ‘what is what’ helps you to unfold the mystery of your true existence.
A permanent view of ‘what is unreal’ and ‘what is unreal’ can come only after Soul-centric reasoning; such knowledge cannot change. Were the seeker who is sufficiently sharp enough, he could grasp the unreal nature of the world by Soul-centric reasoning alone. To know the whole truth, one must know the whole universe, otherwise, he gets only a half-truth.
The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the object (world), observed and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, he sees the world in which he exists as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or consciousness (subject).
Thus, all objective observation has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
A perfect understanding of ‘what is what” is needed to realize the truth, which is hidden by form, time, and space. Getting stuck with ‘I’-centric Gurus and their teaching keeps you in the prison of hallucination. The ‘I-centric’ Gurus are ego-smiths. The ego is not limited to form alone because the ego is form, time, and space together.
That is why Sage Sankara indicated: ~ 65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it, and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.
66. Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of the duality.
Remember:~
The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the universe. The mind arises from the Soul as waking or dream (duality) and subsides as deep sleep (non-duality). Thus, the Soul is the source. Thinking the spiritual heart is within the body is erroneous because the Soul is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.
The ‘Self’ is not within you. The world, in which you exist, is within the Self.’ You are bound by form, time, and space, whereas the Self is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. You are the false self (ego) within the false experience (ego).
No one can stay as Self without realizing the Self. After realizing that Self-nothing stays as reality other than the Soul, the Self. It is foolish to say I AM THAT, I AM THIS without realizing what the Self is, and what the Self is not.
When you are the false self (waking entity) within the false experience (waking), how can you say ‘I AM THAT’, when the ‘Self ‘is neither this nor that.
The Self is the fullness of consciousness. Therefore, there is nothing apart from it Thus, any division (body, ego, and the world) within consciousness is merely an illusion. Thus, whatever is experienced as a person within the illusion is bound to be an illusion.
The nature of the Soul, the Self is awareness. Only through Advaitic wisdom, the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space is revealed. :~ Santthosh Kumaar
