The seeker has to reject God based on the belief because the seeker must first realize what God suppose to be in actuality.+

The Soul the innermost Self is not Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Hindu, or Buddhist, because it is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad declares: "He who worships the deities as entities entirely separate from the Self does not know the truth. For the Gods, he is like a pasu (beast)". (1. 4. 10)
Bhagavad Gita Chapter: ~ All those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires, they worship many Gods. (7- Verse)
Vedas, Upanishad, and Bhagvad Gita Bible confirm the Soul, the innermost Self, which is present in the form of the Spirit or the consciousness is God.

It is for every seeker who is seeking truth must first know what God is supposed to be in actuality according to Vedas and Upanishads and reject all non-Vedic Gods to realize that Atman is the real God.

Do not mix religion with spirituality. Spirituality is universal whereas religion is limited to the individual. Religion is the cause of diversity in unity whereas Spirituality brings unity in diversity.
Sage  Sankara, indicated in Bhaja Govindam says ~ (Jnana Viheena Sarva Mathena Bajathi na Muktim janma Shatena) - One without knowledge does not obtain liberation even in a hundred births, no matter which religious faith he follows.
Many believe spirituality and religion are considered interconnected but it is not so. Religion is based on the false Self-(ego or body or you) and it is limited to the false experience (universe) while spirituality transcends race, religion, gender, language, and nationality in the universe.
Spirituality is based on the Soul the innermost Self. From the standpoint of the Soul the innermost Self, the universe in which we exist is merely an illusion:
God is not physical. God is the Spirit. God is the ultimate truth. God is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. God is Advaita. God is the cause of the universe and God itself is uncaused.
Bible says: ~ God is a Spirit, and they that worship God must worship God in Spirit and in Truth. (John 4:24)
The Spirit is the root element of the universe. The Spirit is present in the form of the Soul, the Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. From the Spirit, the universe comes into existence. In the Spirit, the universe resides. And into the Spirit, the universe is dissolved. The Spirit is the parent of all that is there.
Knowledge of the Spirit or God is Self-knowledge or knowledge of the Spirit or knowledge of God or the ultimate truth.
Jesus said: ~ “Do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. (Matthew -7:6)
~ Jesus meant Knowledge of Christ is Self-knowledge or knowledge of the Spirit or knowledge of God or the ultimate truth.
God is not physical but God is the Spirit. God is the truth. Know  God in truth that truth will set the Soul free.
Jesus said:~"Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all." (Gospel of Thomas 2)
1. Jesus said: ~ Whoever discovers the interpretation of these sayings will not taste death." (Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded)
3. Jesus said: "If your leaders say to you, 'Look, the (Father's) kingdom is in the sky,' then the birds of the sky will precede you. If they say to you, 'It is in the sea,' then the fish will precede you. Rather, the (Father's) kingdom is within you and it is outside you. (Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded)
5. Jesus said:~ "Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you.
For there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. [And there is nothing buried that will not be raised.]" (Jesus spoke and Didymos Judas Thomas recorded)
Gospel Thomas logian 22:~ “Jesus saw infants being sucked. He said to his disciples, “These infants being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom.”
They said to him, “Shall we then, as children, enter the kingdom?”
Jesus’s version of Advaita:~ Jesus said to them, “When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female is female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom.”
Santthosh Kumaar: ~ “ When one realizes mind (matter) and Soul (Spirit), the innermost 'Self' are one in essence then there is no place for the duality. Without duality, the universe ceases to exist as a reality. Without the universe, your existence within the universe is merely an illusion because there is scope for two because everything is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is the consciousness or Spirit.
The Spirit is  God. God is the fullness of the Spirit without the division of form, time, and space. Thus, God is nothing but the ultimate truth or Brahman. Thus, Spirit, God is Advaita.
Remember
In religion, there is no freedom to believe other than what it preaches.   Religious people consider mythological stories as truth and not believing in mythological Gods is irreligious. The mythological God can exist within the domain of duality. From the Advaitic perspective, the duality is merely an illusion.  Thus, whatever belongs to the illusion is bound to be a falsehood.

Religion declares one must believe that there is no other God but God propagated by the particular belief system.

The seeker has to reject God based on the belief because the seeker must first realize what God suppose to be in actuality.

People find some of the religious doctrines very illuminating.  People who renounce the world and become a monk or sanyasi leaves it all behind to find the truth of their true existence.

People think the events that happened in the mythological stories really happened the way they are described, and hallucinate about these stories.

Why Swami Vivekananda:~ The masses in India cry to sixty million Gods, and still die like dogs. Where are these Gods?

Swami Vivekananda: ~ If religion and life depend upon books or upon the existence of any prophet whatsoever, then perish all religion and books! Religion is in us. No books or teachers can do more than help us to find it, and even without them, we can get all truth within. You have gratitude for books and teachers without bondage to them, and worship your Guru as God, but do not obey him blindly; love him all you will, but think for yourself. No blind belief can save you, work out your own salvation. Have only one idea of God - that He is an eternal help.

Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ The Self is indeed Brahman (God), but through ignorance, people identify it with intellect, mind, senses, passions, and the elements of earth, water, air, space, and fire. This is why the Self is said to consist of this and that and appears to be everything.
The Bhagavad Gita: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).
When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.

Lord Krishna says Ch ~V: ~Those who know the Self in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

The dualistic worship of "God” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the Self.   In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

The Vedas confirm God is Atman (Spirit), the Self.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Rig Veda 1/164/46: ~ “They call him Indra, Mitra, Varuna, Agni, or the heavenly sunbird Garutmat. The seers call in many ways that which is One; they speak of Agni, Yama, and Matarishvan.

Rig Veda 8/58/2:~ Only One is the Fire, enkindled in numerous ways; only One is the Sun, pervading this whole universe; only One is the Dawn, illuminating all things. In very truth, the One has become the whole world.

Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.

Rig Veda declares God is ‘ONE’ and God is Atman, then why believe and worship in place of the real God.

Brihad Upanishad: ~ “If you think there is another entity, whether man or God there is no truth."

When Upanishad itself declares: ~   Sarvam khalvidam brahma ~ all this (universe) is verily Brahman. By following back all of the relative appearances in the world, we eventually return to that from which it is all manifest – the non-dual reality (Chandogya Upanishad).

Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). It is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of the senses. Brahman is non-dual, one without a second. It has no other besides it. It is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Brahman cannot be described because the description implies a distinction. Brahman cannot be distinguished from any other than It. In Brahman, there is not a distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constitutes the very essence or Svarupa of Brahman, and not just Its attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.

Sage Sankara: ~"That which permeates all, which nothing transcends and which, like the universal space around us, fills everything completely from within and without, that Supreme non-dual Brahman  (God in truth)."

Thus, truth realization is Self-realization. Self-realization is God-realization.  God-realization itself is real worship.   : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
